For me, every day is a mental health awareness day, but today is special. Today, this mission becomes your mission—our mission.
October 10th is World Mental Health Day, a day devoted to the global recognition of mental health education. Every October on this day, allies band together to push the dialogue on mental health forward. Having a baseline understanding of mental health makes us all better friends, lovers, partners, parents, and humans. This is a day to remind us that community goes beyond our social circles, our neighborhoods, our city and country. We are part of a global community with a shared responsibility to support one another. This means understanding how to offer a helping hand and loving support to those in need. 
In that spirit, I’m kicking off an educational series dedicated to expanding the conversation. Starting tomorrow, over a course of 10 days, I’ll be share one idea related to mental health + wellness. 
What can you do? All that I ask is that if you feel compelled, add to the dialogue, comment, share, find your unique way to contribute to the betterment of those around you. One person can have a tremendous ripple-effect, and if we all do our part to educate ourselves and our loved ones, we can end the stigma surrounding mental health.
